Why doesn't Yahoo! Groups have an NNTP interface? It turns out this question has been asked before, from which we learn of GMANE: Mail To News And Back Again.
Personally I don't see why web, mail, and news shouldn't be views into the same discussion. Why be lame and only offer one mode?
