Two Steps Forward, One Step Back

IBM is planning a net add of 1500 jobs in the United States. Meanwhile, AP reports that some States have pending legislation to encourage the use of local — so to speak — labor. Sometimes it's nice to see buyers attempting to exercise their market power.

But, still, I have trouble imagining what the Next Big Thing will be. I suspect that most people have the same trouble. Perhaps we shouldn't prevent the Next Big Thing from happening here.

Lasik surgery - it's worth it if you are a good candidate. Last Friday I got my eyes lasered and now it looks like I'm going to have 20/20 vision. My eyes weren't that bad before (- 3.00 with some astigmatism), but now they are perfect again. — [Ernie The Attorney]

Congratulations! The recovery from my LASEK surgery was a bit more painful than yours from LASIK, but it looks like I've exceeded all expectations. My right eye is still weaker than my left, but doc says that I'm seeing 20/20.

I see the stars at night before I go to sleep. The world-in-focus is a wonderful thing.
