Symbolic Mess

Compiling Apache to Hendrix. It seemed to make sense.

Is it really necessary to make a logical volume for each major application that's installed? Or is this just a common practice among AIX admins? Yeah, I'll build an LV for Apache just because /usr/local is only 30 MB. Right.

Meanwhile, linking problems that don't show up until you try to run the binaries bite. Some days I think it would be simpler to wipe the boxen and install Debian.
