Changes in the Land

Humans have always changed their environment, some groups more than others. The Geological Survey‘s Temporal Urban Mapping program shows changes in the urban footprint over time [via urban cartography].

The title of this post comes from a book, Changes in the Land, by William Cronon, which considers the impact of the English immigrants on the landscape of New England.
